Issued by: The Ahwazi Coalition for International Relations
The Ahwazi Coalition for International Relations expresses its strongest condemnation and profound denunciation regarding the Iranian Supreme Court’s (Divan-e Ali-ye Keshvar) decision to uphold the unjust death sentences issued against a number of Ahwazi prisoners and activists.
These politically motivated rulings—shrouded in a judicial veneer that lacks the fundamental standards of a fair trial and based on coerced confessions extracted under systemic torture—constitute a flagrant and shocking violation of international humanitarian law and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They represent a continuation of arbitrary executions aimed at intimidating the Ahwazi people and suppressing their legitimate aspirations.
The Coalition urgently calls upon the international community, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and global human rights organizations to intervene immediately and exert pressure on the Iranian authorities to halt and unconditionally revoke these unjust sentences, thereby saving the lives of these innocent detainees.
